Glad to see Chrysler is taking care of this. Now if they take care of the poor jeeper that had the tranny recall fire, I might consider another product from them.

I ran mine and couldn't find anything regarding where the engine was built. The only thing I saw about assembly was that the L in my VIN apparently meant my vehicle was built in the south Toledo plant. Does that apply for the engine as well?

skisailbike, Wow what a terrible story, at least a somewhat happy ending....
With my Jeep at 31k and much off roading it really excites the fear of possibility

Its times like these I wonder what if this happens off road, how the heck you get the Jeep to the road?

To repeat a previous post:

The engine number is on the left rear of the block, just below where the head/block parting line is. The second place in the engine number will be S for Saltillo, Mexico, or T for Trenton.

you've really gotta wonder what was done in the first 5K...

there was probably a reason why there was an almost new jeep with 5k on the lot.

I appreciate your knowledge in these matters ronjenx, but I can't find it My window sticker indicates Engine United States. Hope that means what I think it means.
