Default Death wobble on a stock suspension?

Am driving home from school and on the highway any time my jeep gets over 80 I get a horrible vibration ad wobble. Any one else have experience with this "safety feature", or know how to fix it. For now I am just going to recheck tire pressure

It only happens when you go over 70mph?

Death-wobble is a well-documented issue. I suggest you look up videos of it on youtube and do a search on this forum to read about other people's experiences. It doesn't seem to be speed-induced, rather it occurs when the suspension is violently upset (classic example is crossing a set of train tracks, or hitting a large pothole at speed). It should feel like the front suspension is coming apart, with the wheel violently shaking (think like a dog, when it's wet)--not just a hard vibration felt in the steering wheel. Like...you can't grab on to it, that's how bad it's shaking. And, it doesn't stop until you slow down. By this time, most people are on the brink of having a heart attack.

Based on your description, I'm not automatically convinced it's death wobble. Most people's first "death wobble" post describes a much more traumatic experience. Based on description alone, yours sounds like a tire out of balance. If it happens at a certain speed (you mentioned 80), I'd start backwards from tire pressure. Check tire pressure, confirm it's appropriate for the tire, and if your tires are stock, make sure you follow the recommendation on the driver's door. Then, you might want to have your tires balanced and your alignment checked, check for any work suspension components...

I checked it to be 32psi all the way around but further down the road the track bar bracket welds broke and it fell off the axel which I think could have been my source of error.

That's just a sign your about to go back in time. Usually happens around 81 mph.

You are lucky to be alive to tell about it. Tell us more about your jeep. Year, miles, lifted?

ball joints and tire balance..check those first and all of the nuts and bolts on your front end, glad your ok.

it could have been just that your tb mount was going bad and providing slop until it failed completely
