I am sure that Chrysler is well aware of the demand for a diesel in a Wrangler. I would be willing to bet the issue is tooling cost and keeping a doable price tag.

They build Deisel powered Wranglers every day and market them around the world except for Canada / USA / Mexico.
Thanks California emmissions.
Pretty hard to find gas powered anywhere but here.

Don't go blaming the "Peoples Republic of California" for emissions testing. Its true though my state does kinda bite the big one when it comes to anything fun.
