They've been saying it will get a diesel for years. I'll believe it when I see it. This news is not anywhere else online that's not a few years old and out of date.
"Diesel JK to hit the US next year" has been leaked, rumored talked about and beaten to death since 2008.
And in world news....This just in,
The US doesn't really give a rats ass what France does. Just like Greece they're broke and can't afford to buy Jeeps anyway.
Back to you Phil...

Well said! And before the JK talk there was TJ talk and before that YJ talk.... I've always wanted a small diesel in a Wrangler. I also want a manual transmission with it though and from the looks of things might only happen if I do my own engine swap. Perhaps in a few years :-)

Jeep will likely add some enticer to the 2016 to attract buyers who would otherwise wait for the next generation Wrangler the following year. I would expect to see the 8spd auto as an option with the gas motor too.

If I was to get one I would rather have the jk diesel. Not only am I pretty sure they are going to woosify the next generation, but the 2016 will be the only year they make the jk in a diesel, making them more "collectable" or desirable. Kinda like the LJ rubicon. Only made them for 2 years. Would love to have one

Like I've said before, knowing the way jeep/ram does things it'll be only available on some special model. It'll be a koh rocky Mountain tow feast edition Rubicon that we will finally get some d60s on but with an $90k price tag and then they will not sell and jeep will say I guess ppl don't really want a diesel
