Just a thought, but if you had a snorkel, couldn't you run the lines all the way to the top of that?

I don't do much water, but I deffinately want to extend them so it's a little harder for water to get in.

Never even thought of that. That would totally suck.

I asked this question a while back. The way some people described it, it sounded like they were saying water will get into the transmission when shifting. What they meant was water and mud, etc. will get between the clutch disc and plates, rendering it nearly useless.

Those reading this thread need to read my thread, as it has some good info on breathers for the transfer case, transmission, and diffs, If I knew how to merge threads I would but here is the link.

Have you been in deep water? if its dirty milky looking fluid that comes out you may have gotten water in them or if they were overfilled they will leak, also I noticed when mine had got water in them it would only leak when they got hot.

You should change the fluid and make sure you put the right amount in and then raise the breathers.

here is write up I did on extending them

Some peoples have had them overfilled from the factory, they seem to fill them off the jeep on their sides, so I guess they get a little happy with the trigger. I would change the fluid, there is a write up on it. The diffs on the jk's have built in drain plugs makes it real easy. Only raise the diffs to prevent getting water in them If you raise them and the diffs are still overfilled it will probalble still come out and make a mess up higher lol. Could always take it to the dealer and let them deal with it.
