Default Differential Help!

Im looking at doing some front and rear differential cover painting and was wondering first if someone could help me identify the axils, then also in what order i need to tighten the bolts back on the covers. I have a 08 2door Sahara, thanks guys!

Don't know what you mean by "axils", but just remove all but the center upper, loosen that one and pop the bottom of the case off with a screwdriver and let it drain, pull the top bolt all the way off and the cover is free. To reinstall just do a "star" pattern, snug them up and the torque down. I think 30 foot-pounds roughly but just tighten them up as good as you can with a 3/8 ratchet and you'll be fine.

-Don't forget to clean off all the old gasket crap and replace (rtv)

I have an 08 Sahara, pretty much tighten them like you do a rim, go opposite of each other, snugging them down and then tighten them down until tightened, I have a Dana 30.

You should have a Dana 44 rear and Dana 30 front. Lube locker gaskets work great and are less messy but RTV works too.
