It can be deactivated by the dealer. I had them change the setting on my 08 the last time I was there for warranty work. They didn't charge me since it took under 5 minutes.

My dealer said he could do that, when it's in with them.

Love having manual doors/windows/no power start. Looks like they do a lot of annoying things. Beep the horn when you lock, headlights turning on, etc.

Just something ealse to go wrong after you leave the hole that was WAY deeper then you originaly thought.

OP go to another dealer and have them plug it in and disable it, one who has a clue about how to use their own diagnostic equipment.

What i think would be just nice... and can be easily done.

Since the "customer preference options" are fairly easy to control via a simple menu structure (like in my phone for example) the car dealers should have a list with tick off boxes/parameters or something similar where the customer can chose on paper which options and parameters there should be. This would make all the options easily recognisable as well.

Further, this list could be made computer readable. A scan would then set the "customer preferences" in a few seconds and all is set...

Technicaly no problem at all... at virtually no cost.

:-)

NOPE. Not in the owner's manual on how to do it. You can't turn this off at home. Also, turning marker lights on, then off doesn't turn them off.

This is true on an 07 I've seen, on my 08, and on a friends 09. I haven't tried it on a 2010 model, but I'm pretty sure they haven't changed it.

The OP is talking about using your remote to unlock the doors, then the Headlights come on and stay on for a couple of minutes. The only way to get them to turn off is to start the vehicle.

I have remote and power everything and mine don't do that. I know I changed it so the horn doesn't honk every time I lock with the remote. Maybe it turned them off then. Search the owner's manual. Use the index. There's lots of stuff in there, but you have to look for it.

Believe me, I have. I read the owner's manual the day I came home, front to back. 2 minutes later, i disabled the horn honk as you said.

There has been alot of discussion on this here before. Maybe yours has been turned off at the dealer, but that is the only way that it isn't doing it.

That IS odd. And we have the same year and model. So your headlights stay on until you start the jeep...or at least for a minute or so??
