Well THIS would've been handy info when trying to climb that sandbar the other day!

Just tried it out and it worked great on my '10. Turned it on and off 3 times in a row won't be so worried about going through the mud now lol

Has anyone done this on the '11 yet? I get two lights on the dash (see pic) and I get 2 chimes from the dash every time I stop. Ugh.

Default turning off esp

If you are really serious about getting rid of that awful electronic driving crap, there is a thread floating around about a wire that can be cut and spliced with a switch. This allows you to turn off and on that "know it all" electronics with the flick of a switch, I haven't tried it yet because I fair it will void my warranty. But soon though!!!!!!!

or instead of relying on electronics that don't always know best, we could learn to drive and be in control of our vehicle. Also I'm fairly certain that the speed needed to cause total loss of control in this situation (badger poop on one front tire) would not be suitable for a wrangler on a winding country road.

I did it the easy and expansive way. At least, not this low cost...

Bought a bullydog, enter the menu and set the ESP off...
Works untill I turn it on again...

No cutting wire and no worries...

I turned my ESP off a long time ago and just forgot about it. First winter with my 08 Rubicon almost died twice pulling out into traffic on snowy/icy roads in 4 hi and instead of Jeep going with a little wheel spin. brakes came on, engine shut down left me in the middle of intersection with oncoming traffic. ESP no thanks I can figure out how to deal with wheel spin and badger poop myself
