The "eep" appear to slope upwards a bit.

I applied it to the outline that prior logo left.

I think it's just the fact that the J is capitalized and the P is not that just throws it off. I replaced mine with the black one also and I thought it looked off as well, even though I lined it up perfectly with the previous Jeep emblem's outline. In any case, if you don't mention it, nobody would even think about it.

Thanks, it actually comes on a sticker that makes it "once piece" when applying it, you then remove the top sticker. It is in the outline of the prior logo, so I wonder if that one was off.

Haha oh man this brings back memories! I was out side trying to get it perfect for like 3 hours after that it felt it was off a bit so I bedlined the whole grill! Now you can't even tell! Lol
