Default That doesn't belong there

Went in the new ride today to get a feel for her off road.



On the trip home I noticed a metal racket coming from the rear end. When I got back on the pavement I narrowed it down to the rear driver side tire. Pulled the tire off and poked around, found nothing. So I dug deeper, pulled the caliper and the rotor off. As I pulled the rotor off this little guy fell out:



Didn't see any apparent damage to the parking brake assembly and didn't see where that nut could have come from. Any ideas? Anyone have a picture of what it should look like in there so I can compare?

Looks like the upper sway bar link nut? Maybe?

I have not seen any marking on a jeep nut like that. My only guess would be one of the bearing retaining nuts on the end of the axle. There should be 4 of them and would be near the brakes.
