I loaded those hinges up with grease before the last few winters and it helps a lot with rust and salt. And I never put the bolts back in either.

Yea i do the same that and I have problem of losing shit so they stay in my glove box till winter then I put them back in

I put mine in for winter, even though grease would avoid rust, to much salt and other crap buildup in there would be a pain to clean out, id rather just put them in. plus this way I have less chance of losing them haha.

mine have been off since i first took my doors off about a year and half ago, i have not noticed any problems
