Default Door hinge problem...

Last night when I put my doors back on, the passenger's side door wouldn't slide in the hinge very easily. I looked closer and found that the plastic looking insert in the hinge was cracked and preventing the pin from going in the hinge.

Does anyone have the part number or a cheap fix for this yet?

I have a fix, leave the doors off..

I HOPE that Jeep has a part nuber for the insert and you dont need to buy a new hinge, but my guess, they dont.

I may take it in to the dealer under warranty. I was just wondering if someone here has a cheap fix to save me some time.

If you find out let us know. Mine are cracked too so I may have a problem when the day comes to put mine back on.

I had that problem too... I just pushed down harder until they seated. I guess I'll have to look at that closer next time I put my full doors back on.

Hi Guy,
I'm not sure if it would be beneficial to find a drill bit VERY close to the plastics bore size and slightly enlarge the bore. I would be very cautious about bit selection because if you oversize just a tad too much it'll rattle. Maybe a better solution would be to take some plumbers pipe cleaning tape and polish the pins first? This would remove trace amounts of rust and ever-so-slightly reduce its diameter. Your Jeep...your choices. These are only suggestions. Good luck! Take care... Mike

I have the same problem, if I put the doors on wide open they will not seat, if I put then in place with the door at about a 45 degree angle they drop right in. I hope this makes sence.

+1 on the Magnitude Engineering. Still a bit expensive for what they are, but much less expensive and durable than the Mopar replacement. Check your door pins too, mine were still sticking with the MagEng sleeves and I noticed the pins were corroded. I took a Dremel wire wheel to them and put a coat of white lithium on them, now its as smooth as silk.
