Default Drive-By-Wire Fix

I'm a fair man, but this drive-by-wire is making me absolutely crazy.

Sorry, was channeling Jack Nicholson there.

But seriously, I hate the delayed acceleration caused by the damned drive by wire with the fire of a thousand suns, and I have seen that there are fixes out there for this problem (i.e. sprint booster) just not for the JK, or the minivan with the same engine.

Has anyone found one?

I think you kind of get used to it after a while, or the computer gets used to you. I dont really notice it anymore.

I don't notice it at all anymore as well...same on my wife's WJ. I think you adapt to it and it adapts to you.

I had issues with the drive by wire as well, much like the OP... however, since I've hit the 5000 or 6000 mile mark, I haven't had the issue anymore.

Maybe like someone else said... I'm used to it or it's used to me now.

But, it was frustrating as @#!# getting to that point.

the drive by wire is a learning feature. basically the computer learns your driving habbits. so you drive and it learns how you drive so it fixes itself .
you can use a starscan or starmobile to relearn the dby at anytime.

I had a knee problem and was not able to drive my "X" for about two weeks. So my wife drove it everyday to work.

Today I drove it to work for the first time and the Jeep felt differient. My wife drives more granny like. I think the computor has learned her habits.

After I drive it more, I'll see if the Jeep begin to feel the same to me as it did.

Just for info, I have driven it for most of it's 12,000 miles.

Does the computor learn as it goes along with other drivers? If so I wonder how long before it relearns me.

One other thing.

When I first said that I wanted a JK all I heard from my wife was "what do you want that for? They are dangerous . They turn over, bla bla bla."

Now after she drove it for two weeks. I had to fight her to get it back. She loves it. Now she's talking about one for herself next year.
