Default Driving with your windshield down

I'm seriously thinking about driving around town with my windshield down for an entire week - just because.

Has anyone tried this before? Driving around, being your own bug-shield, for any period of time? How did you like it?

search this on youtube, I saw a good video one time on there. it's illegal in town but on sand dunes and offroading its legal. it takes some time to do and you have a chance of chipping paint but I've always wanted to do it! Let me know how it goes if you do end up doing it.

With the amount of June bugs here, I wouldn't even think about it. But it may be bug free in your area. Rocks are everywhere tho, taking a flying rock to the face would be a deal breaker for me.

Yeah, I suppose it would be.

Only offroad, but it is what makes a Jeep a Jeep. Watch out for sticks and mud in the eye.

Once a co-worker (who drove a smart car) told me, his son said "when I grow up I want a jeep." He asked why and his son replied "because the windshield folds down." There really is no arguing with that. Even kids know what is cool, there is no way around it. Jeeps are cool and the windshield folding down is part of it.

I did it for a day, its fun but after awhile it gets annoying, stay below 20 mph and don't go fast over bumps it could crack your windshield. Enjoy!

I got a ticket years ago in high school cause my CJ's windshield was more cracked than not lol, i was 16 so folding it down seemed the logicle thing to do... needless to say after a week all i had accomplished was another ticket (turns out thats not ok in WA), bugs smashed all over in new places, a pissed off girl friend ( not my fault she did not bring sunglasses), alot of stupid comments from equally stupid people, but more importantly a huge smile...
