Default Dynamat and the JK

Hi

I have a roll of this stuff I was going to use on another project.

What would be the best application on th JK?

Can I use this on the Hardtop as headliner or will the heat kill the adhesion?

Thanks

I have read of it being used on the metal (inner side) of the doors to deaden sound.

You COULD but it would look rather strange as the back of the dynamat is basically a silver aluminum foil looking material. I'd consider the inside of the doors as stated before as that appears to be the thinnest metal on the JK.

Agreed, it would look odd on the top. I saw a write up someone did with a black insul liner on here that looked awesome though.

you could do the rear gate, the metal is really thin there too.

i've used dynamat on other vehicles, and unless you really take you time and place it everywhere, you're not going to get much return for your time investment from just 1 small piece.
Plus, it's heavy stuff...my advise is do the whole jeep, or don't do it at all...IMHO.

I agree with rock. One benefit of using it in "patches" would be behind and around your speaker enclosures to improve the audio quality. It also helps the speakers in the roll bar as well.

Other than that, you're wasting your time.

Use it just around your speakers, as stated above. If you have enough, doing the whole jeep wouldnt hurt, but with removeable tops, you wont be doing yourself any favours as you cant deaden all the sound.
