Default E break

My 2011 e break sucks, my damn jeep just ended up in my neighbors lawn.... Not sure with the added weight of bumpers and tires is causes this but something needs to be done.... I normal don't leave it in gear on a normal incline, but I guess I have to.... Any thoughts ??????

There is a write up on project jk on how to adjust the parking brake. Simple and quick. How far up does the handle pull, maybe it just needs adjusted.

It works but I have to let it click then pull it again then again.... It comes up pretty far... It's just kinda scary my dog jumped in and it started rolling.... She didn't even touch the e break....

I have read that it is a self adjusting cable and in order to adjust pull forward slightly and use the e brake to stop you, then pull slightly backwards in reverse and use the e brake to stop you. and if you do this a few time it will self adjust.

However, when i did this it was still a bag of suck, so i gave up on using it as a parking brake and now i just leave it in gear. Its a tough habbit to get into if you always used the brake

The method you describe will usually improve the e-brake by a couple of clicks, but not because it is self adjusting, (which it isn't).
What it does is equalize the two cables that go to the wheels, making the brake a little more effective.
It will do nothing if you have to pull the lever way up, just to get it to barely grab.
That would indicate the need to adjust it at the wheels.

I have adjusted with , and without, removing the drums/rotors.

It's definitely best to do it with the drums/rotors off.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't leave it in low or reverse gear.
