Default EDR (black box) help?

I was driving to work this morning and i kept feeling a wire when I hit the brakes so when I got to work I pulled the cover under the steering wheel off and what I think is the EDR (black box) fell onto the floor. So if anyone can post a picture of theirs and where its supposed to go so I can put it back or have a diagram? Its a silver box connected to the obd plug in with a flat wire and has some lights on it. Any help will be great.

I'll try to get a picture here for you shortly. There are a lot of folks who work 9-5 so you may have to sit tight.

I don't see any black boxes down there. Do you have a picture of what you are looking at so someone can find it?

Its actually a silver box with three lights a red, yellow and green I think. But its directly connected to the obd port where you hook a scan tool. And no its a 2007 and I bought it a couple weeks ago.

Can you take upload a pic of the piece? I looked at lunch and didn't see anything like that, but mine's a '12. Could be an aftermarket part.

Only pic I can take is with my phone and I cant upload from it for some reason. I stuffed it in a little cubby hole under the driver side speaker. It should stay there. And for people who dont have to stuff strange blinking boxes there its a pretty good hiding place for stuff. I dunno what but stuff haha

Should be nothing "oem" connected to the obdII port. It could be a "naughty nanny" reporting tool or a cheezy performance thingy from the previous owner. Tattletale devices often get left behind in rental, fleet, and company furnished lease vehicles

Maybe the previous owner had progressive and Flo installed it to get the safe driver discount. Checked my 07 sahara and did not find any Flo device on mine
