I see no difference in driving, except maybe a slight hesitation going up hills, but it's very slight.

I plan on continuing to drive until the part comes in. I heard it could damage the catalytic converter, but would like to confirm if this is true.

Prolonged running without an EGR is not ideal. The engine is tuned to incorporate the approximately 10-15% exhaust fumes into the fuel mix which lowers the combustion temps. So, as I understand it, the spark timing is advanced to compensate for the exhaust gasses. So you are losing some efficiency. You might end up with pinging.

But I don't know what the failure is on these things. Are they sticking open, closed?? I don't know much about the more modern set ups or what kind is on the jeeps, but your engine "expects" it to be functioning.

Not to mention if you have to pass emissions testing.......

Yeah, I ran across this also with my '08. I got the same info about three weeks ago and tried to find an alternative solution. No luck there. My mechanic told me he'd charge me $50 to put one in, if I could find one. No service bulletin or recal on it either. Ugh. Good luck.
