Just took mine by the dealer. They are ordering the underhood light and the footwell light.

I also found that there are supposed to be two posts that hold the glove box in when you open it. One of mine was broken off so it was stopping on only one post. Works fine for now, but if the other one breaks off I'm screwed. They are ordering me a new glove box too.

My dealer printed out a service bulletin for me today that said they were discontinuing the underhood lamp for any 2007MY Wrangler (i don't know what the MY stands for) built after 10/28/06. Basicly it was DC telling the dealers to not claim the underlamp as missing when delivered when ordering it for customers. They hadn't sold too many '07's at this dealer so i have been the only one the parts dept has dealt with on this issue. but thought i'd pass it along.

MY = Model Year. I wonder why they are doing that? I looked the other day and mine is there. Heck I didn't even know I had one till I popped the hood again. I didn't look for it the first time I was under the hood. LOL

Any ideas why they're doing away with the under-hood light?? Maybe too many ignorant souls are driving around with their hoods up? And this extra power draw is the culprit of the radio bug?

This doesn't surprise me.

Ford did the same thing on the Contour. We only built them for a few months before they killed the hood light. They never did explain why, but I'd guess it's the same with DCX. . . a cost cutting measure.

Seriously, if it's a problem with a mercury switch (or whatever they use nowadays) then put a normal button switch under the hood, tie it into the alarm system for those that have it, and then you have an easy way to have the hood light come on, and you have a little more protection against battery thieves.
