Engine degreasing question
I just cover the air intake then sprayed a mixture of Simple Green all over.. After letting it sit a while, I used a pressure washer to blast everything. I then started the engine and allowed it to warm up to evaporate any water left over.
I usually use a long handled brush to break up the mud/dirt and wash it off right after. Finally wipe off with a damp cloth so leaves no water spots.
Yes! Completely agree with the Simple Green! I buy the concentrate and dilute it to a 50/50 mix, let it soak, then hose it off with a garden hose before it dries. You might have to do it twice if you don't have a pressure washer.
I suggest not to buy the simple green at a car parts store. Places like Home Depot sell it in gallon jugs considerably cheaper.

I don't wash engine while running because the fan throws the stuff everywhere. What I do is spray a semi warm engine with simple green. Leave it on for a bit, then pressure wash it with water to rinse. The. I start it up and let the engine heat up to evaporate the water.
