Default Engine light code

I have these 2 codes showing up under the engine light

P0137 - O2 Sensor 1/2 Circuit Low
P0138 - O2 Sensor 1/2 Circuit High

I know that its a oxygen sensor but,
What does this mean. and where is the sensor located.

I belive it means your O2 sensors are detecting your engine is both running too rich and too lean. I know that sounds contradictory, but it is possible. Basically your fuel mixture is different at different points on the fuel map. What mods are you running if any?

A p0138 is O2 sensor 1/2 circuit high. this code will set over a faulty O2 sensor, a broken wire, or the connector being unplugged. Check and make sure exhaust doesn't have the wire stretched tight.

since your JK is stock it probably is a faulty sensor or wire or there could be an exhaust leak witch will effect the readings if the leak is before the O2 sensors. The condition I metioned earlier with MAPS is usually only encountered on modified/retuned vehicles.

i believe i read somewhere on here that there was significant slack on the 02 sensor wire and it came into contact with the exhaust (maybe the driveshaft) and wore into the wire... the threw code.
