Angry Engine shuts off /Power loss (Need Help!)

I have a 2014 Sahara manual. Last night i was running some trails hit some pot holes nothing i would consider out of the ordinary and all of a sudden my engine completely loses power shortly after. I tried to turn it back on and it would crank but could not turn over. i installed a new battery last week and all the connections were good. I fortunately had a good Samaritan come up and find me. He towed me to the trail head. In the process when we were going about 15 mph i put the jeep into 2nd gear and slowly released the clutch and the engine turned over. Going home i noticed a major lack of power. I would hit the gas and it would be a delayed reaction. The jeep through 1, 2 and 3 gears would have a delay in power then all of a sudden lurch forward as if the fuel made it delayed to the engine. I did not notice any leaking fluids. Any thoughts on where to start? speedo gave me no codes or engine issues in menu.

Check that your EGR is not loose. Mine worked its bolts loose and did a lot of what you’re saying. That’s where I would start.

No CEL though? Mine threw a lot of codes when it happened.

Thanks for the recommendation Seizer! I snaked my hand and the EGR seems pretty secure. I took it to Orielly's and confirmed it did not spit a single code. It had a slow start up off a cold engine again this morning again it cranked but did not turn over till about the third try. I have driven it around a bit today and if i go really easy and smooth on the gas there is no delay on the power and the car does not surge and lurch but if i do press the accelerator down in any sort of forceful manner the jeep immediatley loses power then will surge and kick me back with a delayed response. I also have a completely smooth idle.No check engine light on. Put a whole tank of new gas two days ago im down to about 3/4's of a tank. just hit 90k miles on it. I bought a fuel system cleaner to dump into the tank. I am thinking this may be a fuel pump/filter issue? Does this sound right?

Also wanted to add here that when the jeep is lurching forward the RPM's stay constant. I Never have them spike or dip in relation to the fluctuation in power. The jeep has not shut off since the initial failure. Jeep turned over this morning cold on the first crank. Still no CEL or codes

That’s a tough one. Sorry I don’t have anymore insight other than guesses. Loose vacuum line?
