I do not work for a dealer but I do have access to a starscan tool every so often the directions are correct, and if they charge for changing it kickem were it hurts, I also found this a pain in the a$$ when in the camp ground, I read the manual and killed the horn the first time out.

I know this sounds kind of obvious but, don't use the alarm when camping. Just lock it the old fashioned way. It works fine.

Sure does. But then, that's not really the point now, is it? I didn't ask for alternatives to unlocking my Jeep with the remote, I asked for a way to make the headlights not come on when I unlock it with the remote.
