ESP/BAS & traction control lights on??
My tires were at 50 PSI! dropped them to about 30, now it rides MUCH better and not having the issue. I have never seen tires with pressure that high; seeing its the max rating for my tires. Glad it was a simple fix.
This happened to me on my first roadtrip at around 1,600 miles. Stoped, turned off and on again (took a pic with my cell for evidence) and the lights went off. Maybe the ESP software is made by Windows?
Haven't had the problem again.

Haven't had the problem again.
I had this problem on and off for a while, but for the last couple months, its been lit nonstop. Do I need to take it to the stealership? My axles were centered properly when I installed the lift, but the front end may be slightly out of alignment. The Jeep logo in the steering wheel is slightly crooked.
Given that I have aftermarket adjustable control arms and all that, can I take it somewhere to have it aligned or is going to be a hassle? I'd really like to avoid the stealership, I try to avoid their high costs as much much as possible. They wanted to charge me $200 to change my diff fluid. I nearly fell over.

The tec explained that the ESP/ABS system runs diagnostic tests periodically so if the problem is intermittent then sometimes the test will be clear, other times not (warning lights go on & chime sounds). Eventually the loose/faulty connection or whatever it is causing the fault stays broken & the lights stay on permanently. Better get it checked out.
friend of mines JK had these lights on all the time . Rode around for a year like that. He picked up a procal and we centered his steering wheel then pulled the positive ont he battery after that they never came back on and he has zero esp problems.
Finally a thread where I can sound smart and not lost haha. I'm a newb bought my 2010 jk unlimited about 2 months ago. A week after I bought it I had the same problem with the esp and the abs lights randomly appearing one morning and not coming off. I took it to the dealership and they took care of it free of charge as long as the vehicle was under warranty. The mechanic said it was due to a sensor that is placed behind the wheel near the breaks. He mentioned that the lights coming on was just a result of that sensor either being moved out of place or being defective (in my case, defective). So if u still have warranty on it then just take it in to the dealership, it took me 2 hrs and the lights haven't been on since. Or u could just try adjusting it yourself if its just moved out of position. Not sure what the sensor would look like though.
I've been having problems with my Jeep since I bought it a year and a month ago.
The electrical system is either a piece of sh*t on this thing..... I posted a thread a while ago explaining the problem and have brought my Jeep in about 5 times for this specific problem.
The first thing that happens is that the ESP/BAS lights and the Traction Assist icon come on accompanied with a chime (like the one when you need gas or when your seatbelt is off).
After that happens, every other light starts to come on and off sporadically and the tachometer jumps like a mexican jumping bean. The lights include: Red circular light above the water temp, the airbag light, a red lightning bolt icon light, a red oil can/genie bottle light, and some others that I can't remember.
The odometer area is also affected during this flurry of a seizure. It will put boxes around all of the letters as if I was in every gear (PRND) at the same time. The "HOT OIL" message flashes.
Also, on two separate occasions, the seizure resulted in the car applying the brakes for me as if it was protecting me from a skid-out. The only problem here is that I was going straight down the road @ 30 mph with my foot on the gas pedal when it happened.
-----------------------------------
The service performed included (in chronological order):
-Replacing the ignition cylinder
-Replacing the ABS computer
-Removing my aftermarket radio (they initially thought this was the problem, but apparently not) and replacing the factory radio.
-Replacing the "Module A"
(after the last 2 "repairs" the heat stopped working - blower was fine, but no heat came out)
-Replacing the clockspring in the steering column
-Replacing a switch that made my blinker stay on (this didn't happen ever when I drove the car, so I'm guessing they broke it during maintenance - they just listed this on a separate invoice stapled with the repair on the clockspring)
---------------------------------
Does anyone else have this problem? The car is stock and this is really a terrible car that I would never recommend to anyone ever. It's unbelievable that they can't fix this problem, but even more disturbing that the Jeep's electronics are equivalent to that of an Atari (at best).
I had posted a reply to another thread somewhere on jk-forum.... if I can find it, I'll edit this post and put a link to it - but it has pretty much all of the same info.
Bottom line: I loved my 98 Jeep Cherokee Sport - it ran like a beast. The trasmission was solid, the I6 had less horsepower but was more punchy and responsive, and the electronics didn't spaz out. This new 2009 JK Wrangler I just got last August looks great, but is one of the worst cars I have ever used in my life. I would never recommend the car to anyone as it needs to be taken in for service at least once a month on average.
IF ANYONE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND A SOLUTION, PLEASE POST A REPLY!!!!!!!!! I'M TIRED OF CLEANING MY VOMIT OFF THE FLOOR EVERY WEEK FROM USING THIS CAR.
