Default ESP OFF and 4WD light flickering on and off

I have a 2010 JK Unlimited Sahara. The ESP OFF and 4WD light has starting flickering on and off, randomly. Trouble is sometimes it does it for a minute or so and other times it does it for long periods with the chimes chiming every couple of seconds. This is very irritating for a thirty minute trip. I plan to take it to the dealer this week, but does anyone have any idea what this may be?

Thing is it hasn't been in 4WD in months.

Just tried cycling it through several times. It seems to have stopped for now. However now my 4WD light does not consistently come on, although I know it's in 4WD. What now.

Take it out on the dirt and drive it around in 4X4 high and low a few times. It needs to be cycled once in a while especially if you've got a sticky sensor.

Just got it back from dealer. They said my "transfer case range sensor wiring had been partially ripped out. They said I must have snagged it on something. Thing is, I haven't had it off road in months. Then they said well maybe something must have came up from the road and hit it. So as you can guess, they didn't cover it. Said it was going to be $300 to replace it. The part is $22. I ordered it and am going to try it myself. Meanwhile, with the wire completely off now, there is no light flashing and "NO CHIME". Because of this, I am still debating fixing it. As it is, I have no "ESP OFF" indicator and no FWD light. I know when it is in FWD.

Has anyone else out there has this problem. I have to say, This is a Jeep. Designed to go off road. Why is there a wire that could become snagged?

Haven't gotten under there yet. Just got back from dealer(still pissed off) He showed me photos of the part and the area underneath. Looks like something I can do. Could be hard to reach and a pain. But worth caving $300. Worst case, right now I don't see a problem running without it. Any thoughts on running without it?

Did your Jeep hesitate to go forward when the lights was flashing

2008 JKU, is doing the same thing. 4x4 and esp flashing and chiming sometimes non stop and other times its quiet for a couple of hours. Have changed the rear drivers side speed sensor, e-brake had damaged it. Still flashing and chimes going off, WTH??? Any ideas?? Thanks
