Nothing wrong with moving it. I'm just miffed when someone dis's my decision to protect it instead. To each their own!
Couple of comments on warranty.

My local service manager relocated his. I've run this accross everybody that I know at a dealership and they have all agreed that there is zero change in function of a relocated evap canister, therefore they wouldn't see any issue with warranty. Heck my local service manager even relocated his.
If there was a problem, it takes all of about 15 minutes to move it back to the stock location. Sure it is only attached with two bolts instead of 3, but I ran my rig that way for two months to test it out.

Default Canister Fixed

Ok, I picked up my canister from the dealer for a mere $57. Took it home and found how easy it was to install. Now the "gascap" indicator and check engine light are still on. They said it could be up to a week before they clear.

It's only $99 bucks and attaches to the frame.
wow $100 bucks for a canister shield? Think I'll just build my own for that price for a 1/4 the price of mat'l and as stout if not stronger. Thanks for the link.

doesn't take a week, if they knew what they were doing they'd clear your codes on the PCM at the dealership. Not sure if this will work on a JK, does on GM, undo your positive battery, leave it for about 15mins, hook it back up, should be cleared. There is no "week" wigi-board BS to clear your codes.

My Jeep Tech Guy did mine on RubyDoo and liked the location even better than the stock one and now he wants to put it inside on top of the wheel well because it still gets wet some times.
