I don't know if the JK has a heater control valve. I'll do some research. If it does, then yes, it could be an issue.

BL is body lift. It helps because it lifts the floor away from the exhaust.

Sounds like the best reason I've seen for a body lift - thanks.

This happened to me in a Kenworth tractor so your ac may not be out. I know its not a jeep same principle though. Ac quit all the sudden and I was frying blower still on, turned off still hot. Called company mechanic. He had me get under hood find a lever and move it opposite direction, ac working. attached to the lever was a broken wire, secured it and it was permanently fixed later.

Now I know its not a jeep. mechanic told me the wire was attached to the cold/hot knob in the cab. It snapped and it was suddenly in the hot position regardless of where i moved the knob.

mechanic said there was a common blower/fan for ac or heat. that wire closed and opened a door somewhere in the dash that isolated the blower from the ac evaporator (cold air) and the heater core (hot air).

So check behind your knob see if it's connected properly. Hopefully it's that simple for you.

I was doing some work on my CB and stereo, just before this broke, so I'll take a look.

I have the same Issue. I went to arizona without carpet and it was HOT! I never thought of a bodylift to solve this. I was planning on adding one to help with where my winch wiring is running under the grill. Now I think it will happen a little sooner

I have the same problem on my 2010 jk unlimited rubicon. It all started the day after the dealer had fix a trans mission problem! I was wearing flippers and i had to finish the trip on cruise control and full ac blasting at my feets! It was so hot the ac was not even changing anything temperature wise! The dealer thought it was the heater core that was over heating but the corse is in the main console therefore the console should be real hot but the heat comes from under the tunnel. If you take the carpet off and put your hands on the tunnel you see it crazy hot not to say extremely hot! Thing is the catalytic converter is right under and is supposed to be protecting your feets with heat shields. I believe they accidentally folded the heat shilds and it is now in contact with the floor conducting heat to our feets! Any how tell me if you did anything to solve this problem without having to bl the jeep

Thanks

Jay

Here's the deal. There is a rubber boot that snaps to the metal on the transmission tunnel. It's separate and beneath the rubber boot that you see in the cab. The dealer did not properly attach it to the transmission. I'm pretty sure it's an easy fix for your dealer. Take it back and tell them what I wrote. It should be a 5 minute no-brainer. If you're dealer is good, you shouldn't have to leave your Jeep there for them to work on it.

Woods; you'd be doing a lot of people a favor if you could take a picture or something of what you're talking about. I haven't had this problem yet but I'd like to understand the fix. (Btw I like Jeepswag; I've bought from them)

Thank you very much for the information.I will be able to look at it myself today! Meanwhile the dealer also told me that it had something to do with the heat shield not being good enough to prevent all the heat from the catalytic converter from entering the cab. The dealer did some research and realized that chrysler had had some complaints about this but only on manual transmission vehicles!
