Default Factory mirror removal

Can anyone tell me how to remove the outside mirrors? I have pulled the one torx bolt out of the bottom but not sure where to go from here...

Thanks!

I'm not sure how to remove the mirror from the base, but if you take the whole thing off the door, you might be able to see what is holding it together. Then if you need to tap it with a mallet or something, you won't have to worry about hurting the door. Just pull the two screws inside, remove the whole thing and you can pull, prod, whatever you need to do.

A firm thump from below with the palm of your hand will do it.
