I just had the Mopar aftermarket remote starter installed on my 2007 Sahara. Yes, it does come with a small fob, but it's really small and works great.

One tip for those considering the install - there is a small antenna that you need to install in the truck (adhesive on back of antenna). Luckily for me, my windshield was cracked when I had the remote starter installed so the dealer didn't stick the antenna to the windshield "like you are suppose to" (behind the rear view mirror, I guess). Thank god. I stuck it on the inside trim (slate color, antenna is black) and you don't even notice it. Not that it's that big and would really stick out on the windshield, but IMHO it looks so much better up on the trim.

I'm with you on that one. Two pieces would be great. The factory fob feels like its 3 feet long in the pocket. I'd love to upgrade the alarm to a 2 way Viper but haven't figured out what to do with the proximity sensor in the key.

Anybody do this yet?

It's all on 1 key...you just have to hit the top button 2x and it will honk and then start.

Side note: If you plan on adding the Mopar Remote Start to your JK (as an add-on), it will not work unless you have the Power Group option from the factory. Yeah, that sucks. They are sold on e-bay for $200. I just bought one for my wife's '08 Dodge and they work awesome and are easy to install.

Default 08 remote start install on 07 wrangler

Does anyone know if the 08 remote start with the start button integrated into the key can be added to an 07 Wrangler (instead of the more generic, separate fob version)? If not possible, why?

Thanks.

Default 08 remote start in 07 wrangler

I have read that 08s come prewired with stuff (hood pin, etc.). Just wondering if anyone has gotten a definitive no or yes from someone.

Thanks.

I've asked this before and no one seems to know, so hopefully someone can shed some light on it. I know it's silly, but I want remote start, but not a seperate fob. I want it integrated.

I'd like to know as well...
also...
If the JK is a manual transmission, how does that affect it. I'm assuming that if you plan to use remote start, you'd have to leave it out of gear and rely on the parking brake alone?
