Default Factory service manual

Any one have any idea when the factory service manual will be out and where one could buy one for a 2012 JKU?
I thought federal law said all vehicles were to have a service manual availible for an end user to purchase.

Not sure about the federal law but I went to the chrysler web site and the most recent service manual available for purchase was 2009. I was looking for a 2011. Never had a problem buying a service manual for my ford trucks the same year I bought the vechicle. Aggravating isn't it.

Service manuals are not being produced after 2009. I wanted one for my 2011 and the dealer said he can't get anything.

We have a program at our shop called alldata which covers most all vehicles including the wrangler. The system hasn't been updated with the 2012 yet but from what I heard anyone can purchase a subscription for the service. Might be something to look into if you CA not find a book issue.

You just need to call jeep HQ and ask for it. They mail it out to you in about 5 days and it's free. You can find the number in a thread that's prob. Buried pretty deep on here. It doesent fit very well in the little green case that comes with your jeep, you have to jam it in. They were really nice when I called, no questions asked except the year and your address. Good luck.

The service manuals are typically available 3 years after the model year vehicle. I think they do that to keep you from working on a vehicle during the typical warranty period.
