Was this a fluke?
I filled up for the 4th time yesterday and manually calculated my gas mileage at the pump. I was pleasantly surprised I got 23 mpg! This is pretty much all city driving and one trip out to a campground (no wheeling this trip). My first tank was about 22.4 mpg, but that was with the 16" tires and wheel that came on it. About half way through the 2nd tank I swapped the 16" tires and wheel for a set of OEM 17" tires and wheel (the "S" Package combo), and that tank yielded 19.8 mpg. The next full tank on these tires and wheel gave me 19 mpg even, and I pretty well accepted that the loss was due to the larger tires and wheels. So, I was thrilled this fill-up when I calculated 23 mpg, I just hope it's not a fluke, and will stay there and not drop back to 19 mpg... I still only have 1119 miles on the Jeep, so it's still breaking in...

I have 12 JKU and average just under 20 mpg with stock Sahara wheels/tires and a high % of city driving with AC running. I did get almost 25mpg on a road trip once. In a couple weeks once my wheels come in I'll be lifted with 37's, I'm expecting at least a couple MPG drop. I have the 3.73 gears and will likely regear later if I don't like the performance.
