Default Found a hole in the muffler today

There's a small hole in my muffler and I'm wondering what could have caused it. It seems like an odd location for rock damage. I have not noticed it before today but does it seem like it's been there a while? I'm sure my extended warranty will not cover a replacement. There is no loud noise coming from the muffler either. Is there anything I can use to patch it up or will I just need to replace it? these are the best pics I could get with my phone. the first 2 pics show the small hole in the middle of the black area.

That's a condensate drain hole.
It's been there since the muffler was new. Don't plug it.

Yeah, if you watch the muffler closely (particularly on a cooler day) a few minutes after you've just started the motor from cold you'll see quite a bit of water dripping out of that hole, so it does the job it's designed to alright...
