Some dealers have been known to charge way more than that, though.
The best thing to do may be to have a dealer put the scan tool on your Jeep. The easiest way to test all the systems is with their scan/diagnostic tools.

Hopefully you just fried one fuse that did what it was designed to do, protect the system. The problem with these new fangled vehicles is finding a schematic or computer to plug in, to show you which fuse, and where it is.
Maybe though the TIPM's are that delicate, seems like a lot time they are back-ordered at the dealers. Hope it ain't that.
Decades ago, used to be you could pretty much get lazy, screw up, and try to weld a wrench from the positive terminal to the frame, and the darn vehicle did not even care about that stupid mistake. (Don't ask how I know that

Remove the negative cable for a few min and then reinstall
If that dont help, put jeep in 4 lo, that will disable the neutral safety swicth and now jeep can start in any gear position. Be sure to be in jeep with foot on brake before starting.
Good luck

Are you sure that's a feature of the automatic? It's like that on the 6 speed with the clutch position switch bypass.
