I have some driveway damage on mine(don't ask!).

How much will one cost me at the dealer tomorrow?

I have the old one off and there is a little crush in the "crush can", not much, maybe 1/4". I should be able to re-use the inner bumper, correct?

If anyone has a front skin w/fog cut-outs in excellent condition let me know!

Well if I must! I was backing my XJ out of the garage and the rear is full of tackling dummies and hand shields(I coach pee-wee football) and I lost the JK in the mirror,=Med hard BUMP! It just pushed in the bumper at the crushcan and of course the crush can cookie cut a hole in the skin. The XJ has a scuff on the drivers end cap and only some slightly noticeable "push in" on the bumper. It will be OK. No body damage to either.

The BIG problem is the JK belongs to my wife so it has to be fixed ASAP! I need a bumper skin fast(and cheap would be nice!).

 

Check the freebies sections, there are lots of them in there ... getting one nearby is the hard part.
So the wife hasn't noticed it yet?

 

She's out of town but I told her about it, yep she is pissed! I can fix it though, just gotta get the skin.

 

Think after market, explain to her you felt so bad you ran right out and bought her a real bumper, and how much safer she will be with it, how you are only looking out for her safety, and how glad you are that this is how you discovered how flimsy the stock bumper is.

Just play up the 'most precious' cargo deserves real protection and you'll be her Knight in Shining Armor, get a real bumper on that JK, and probably have some real great 'my protector' adult activities.

Good luck getting it fixed though. All our dealerships ar out of everything and everything is on back order...

 

I ordered a new one today, will be in tomorrow. $230 and it will look like "new" again.

 

$230! you could have found a used bumper for around $100. I would cancel that order and find one in the for sale section.

 

I would also check the freebie section, there were a couple in there the other day, just needed to cover shipping, or pick up depends where you are... Heck $230 I might sell you mine
