Default Front drive shaft won't disengage.

I hit some trails today had to put it in 4L after the trail ride. The front shaft won't disengage. It's still spinning but the dash says It's out of 4wd. Anyone have any ideas how to get it out? Or am I just crazy? The front DS is not supposed to spin when your in 2H?

The front drive shaft and the contents of the front axle will spin any time the JK is moving; even in 2wd.
That's because the wheels are still connected to the axle shafts.

I took it out of 4L and put it in 2H for the last 1/2 mile the easy part and my buddy told me when I was slipping he said my front right was spinning. But I told him I was n 2H. That's why I'm asking.

Well, then...That means you must have been in 4hi. Maybe you didn't move the lever quite far enough.

Did you ever get it into 2wd? If not, is the lever floppy as if disconnected?

I think you were right. I must have had it in 4H... Weird part was the 4WD light on the dash was not lit.
