Front Inner Axle Seal - Aftermarket Replacement?
I'm about to replace the inner axle seals on the front axle of my 07 Rubicon for the 2nd time! As this is obviously a poorly designed piece of garbage, are there any aftermarket replacement parts that I could use instead of the stock ones again? Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. I did finally find one aftermarket replacement, but I also think you are correct about the source of the problem, so I will be replacing the front shafts as well.
Inspect the old seals and shafts for any kind of damage that would cause a leak.
Repeated seal failure has happened to a few people on the forums. It would be nice if you could determine if the cause on yours was bad seals, bad axle shafts, or bad installation technique.
The axle should have a spacer on the splined end to keep the shaft at the proper height as you push it toward the seal.
See if the aftermarket replacement seal is different from the one you take out.

I'm in the same boat as you CALIJK. My thread in this section.
I just submitted that thread a short time ago. I was on the run and didn't notice yours.
The dealer who replaced my axle seals suspects my axle shaft is damaged.
