Fuel Consumption
It's all relative. Here in Germany I have to pay about 80 Euros for a complete fill for my '03 TJ.
That's about 110 $.
And it's still worth the fun.
So I can't wait to get the JK later this year...

they'll tell you to rent a honda because fuel efficiency and gas mileage isn't the top priority for people buying wranglers. you can get an engine that does 50 miles per gallon, but stick that same engine on a wrangler (or any other brick shaped vehicle) and there goes that 50mpg.
one word: Aerodynamics

Look at the Toyota Prius, there is a reason it looks the way it does. An aerodynamic design and lighter materials go a long way to making a fuel efficient vehicle.
The Jeep was designed to do many things, and does those extremely well. But one thing it was never designed to do (and thusly will probably always do poorly at) is have good fuel efficiently. There are trade offs in life, and this is one of them.
I've rented a few 2-Door Wrangler over the last year and the fuel consumption on them has been horrible. What's everyone's experience with fuel consumption and what are you seeing per tank on average.
Also, for those who have added Superchargers......what are you seeing?

Well concidering I get the same ammount of miles out of a tank of gas in the jeep, than what I did with my ram 1500 with hemi, I think im doing good concidering it costs about 37 to fill compared to the 60+ it cost the truck
. so must say im happy I traded it in for my jeep.

Since I've regeared to 5.13's and have my 35's on it... I am seeing around 15-16 city and around 17-18 highway. Not bad for driving a lifted, larger tired brick around! MUCH better than my CJ7 ever did and it was lighter.
You want to see better mileage? Run a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 with a V-10 for 12 years. That just shy of 10mpg really gets old when fuel prices triple over the life of the vehicle.

That said, I still can't order my JK until spring of 2009. (have to pay off the wife's car first) Hopefully I'll be able to order something other than the minivan engine then. I'd love to see the diesel, but could live with a small multi-displacement V8 if I had to. (^_^)
