Fuel Economy

I do the same type of driving. I rarely go above 2k and I make sure I don't have any rough shifts. I'm in a manual so if I dump on the gas and just shift at every 2k RPM I would still get crap mileage because I'm dumping on the gas. You gotta go easy on the Jeep to get decent mileage. Besides it's a Jeep you don't need to haul-@$$ everywhere you go... it's not built for that kind of driving.

Man do I feel stupid! Thanks for the info on resetting the fuel ecc. I just figured that it would be a running average from the get go. I also drive on the light side and very rarely hammer it. If I wanted speeding tickets I would have bought something else. Very happy with the Jk even though the Fuel ecc. isn't the greatest.

I have the base model jeep so I don't have that fancy stuff But i always calculate my mpg and I am always in the 18 range. My last fill up 2 days ago was 19.2 though.

liters vs gallons
Hey we use mpg down here in the states. no one wants to calculate liters and kilometers into mpg to see if your jeep is gettin anywhere near the mpg we are. how about doing that math and gettin back to us.
u r always gonna b disappointed comparing a 4x4 with ur wife's caravan.

Throw it in 4Hi or 4Lo and go run a trail. Watch your average drop into the low teens or below. One Sunday I spent about 6 straight hours exploring some back country in 4Hi and my 16.7 cum average dropped to 14. That meant I was probably getting less then 10 some of the time.

Here is a site you can view real world fuel eco, it does automatic conversion between US_MPG, UK_MPG, and Metric (L/100k)

My 2013 2-Door Sport automatic has averaged 19-21 mpg over my first 3,800 miles, including two mountain short off-road excursions and a 1,500 mile road trip. I do drive conservatively when possible.

Here is my mpg from every tankful over 36,000 miles. 2012 JKU sport. All stock except for rubi takeoffs. I'm keeping my eye on mpg in the future to see if the increase over 29,000 is real or not. That's where I first changed my manual trans fluid and transfer case fluid.
