Default Full to half doors - electrical

Hi All,

I have the opp to swap my full sahara doors for halfs. For those of you that have done this. What do I need to keep? And what can i give to the other guy. I have power windows and locks. I would like to keep the power locks.

I'm thinking I can give him my window control, but not the harness. I also think I should keep my lock actuators and switches.

Another question...Do they leak? I have a set of bestop soft doors that leak bigtime. from the pics, it looks like the window is in somewhat of a frame.

Hmmm! You need to find out if his Jeep has Power Locks on the Halves too. FYI, the Full Doors and Half Doors use the same exact Wire Harness. If he does have Power Locks, and you have Power Locks, it shouldn't be any problem. You would just connect the Half Door Harness to your Jeep, and he'll connect the Full Door Harness to his Jeep. DONE!

The Half Doors don't have a Lock Switch on them, like the Full Doors. They lock either with the Remote (Power Locks...), or when you hit 15-mph (Power Locks...), or by Manually flipping the Door Lock Paddle to "LOCK", or use the Key on the outside Door Lock. Ensure you have your Door Locks Re-Keyed by a Locksmith, when you get the Doors, and let your Trader know to do the same.

I would call him and or write him, and MAKE SURE... what he has, and what he intends to keep and/or remove before the trade. You really don't want to start removing anything, or keeping anything, until you know exactly what he's going to do.

If he has Manual Doors (i.e., No Power Option...), then you'll need to swap out the Power parts with him.

My Half Doors don't leak at all. The Upper Doors seal very well against the Lower Doors, as well as the Door Surrounds at the Top.

I have the Half Doors and Full Doors, and when I need to swap them (Winter...), it'll just be a Straight Swap. No Harnesses, Hardware, etc., to swap them out. Just Plug-N-Play!

Best of Luck on the Trade! Let us know how things work out, and post pics when you can!

Cheers!
