Relax guys, it was a concept they came out with in 1997, but still it's scary if they thought of something like this back then, imagine what they could come up with now!

That was the 1997 Icon concept, complete with independent suspension. Jeep also showed the four-door TJ-derived Dakar concept that year.

As you can see though there are cues of our current JK's in that concept. Similarities in the headlights and grill. The full plastic fenders. The hood and latches. The bumper ends for some of the upgraded bumpers now. The windshield. And it looks like the placement and style of our current rear license plate. All of these look very similar to our beloved JK's
