Default Gas odor?

When i started my jeep this morning i could really smell gas bad and this was before i got in. I could smell it inside too but probably from the ac pulling in the fumes.

Any thoughts?

1st, do not drive it. Pop the hood look and see if you have any leaks in there. Check underneath by your gas lines to and from tank and evap cannister especially.

did you just fill up? if gas spilled on the outside, could be the cause of the odour.....

Spilled gas smell on the outside usually goes away pretty quick. Something is leaking for a constant smell, unless gas was spilled on the carpet or your pants.

Cold start gas smell. I read on here a while ago that a cracked exhaust manifold will create a gas smell on cold starts, like in the morning after it has sat for a while. You can pop the cover plate off and take a look or let the dealer take a whack at it.

My driverside manifold cracked, no gas smell though. Look real closely at the evap cannister.

A cracked manifold will do more than just smell like gas....
