I got a letter from Chrysler about a warranty extension for the gas tank fill problem. Called the dealer, and while they had no clue about it, they researched it, ordered the parts, and replaced it in about 2 hours. I haven't filled it up yet, but it is some kind of check valve in the tank that requires complete replacement of the tank. I will update after a full fill up.

 

I dropped my JKU off this morning at 7am. They are replacing the fuel tank and doing the brake line/fender recall.

 

I am calling mine in today about the same issue.

 

You're lucky they had the tank in already. My dealership had to order mine.

Not like I'm in a hurry because I've been without a proper-filling tank this long, but at least you got it fixed fast.

 

Is the fuel pump in the tank on our JKs?

 

I don't think I have this problem, but does anyone have info on what JK's are part of this recall?

 

The fuel tank wasn't in stock so they ordered last week.

 

My dealer ordered the tank and it arrived the next week. I dropped the Jeep off at 7a.m. for the tank replacement and an oil change and I picked it up at noon. Great service! I just hope the new tank fixes the problem.

 

I had my tank swapped about a month ago, and so far so good. Luckily this was pre recall, but I was still under 3/36, so they had it in stock and changed out in a morning.
