Mine is in the shop now also. My claims guy has no issues with aftermarket upgrades, he said to just let the shop know what I want, and if it costs more than the factory part, I pay the difference.


My insurance company has policies, listed on the website, that say I can take it to the shop and have the shop paid directly, or I can take the check and pocket it. When I asked the claims guy about getting the check and purchasing the aftermarket parts myself, he replied that my situation is different since my JK is currently financed, and that I would need to get a release from the finance company for them to give me the check directly. So, my shop gets to do the purchasing.
