Default Grinding Gears

I have a 08 2door 6 speed and I'm having problems with some of my gears grinding on me.
Every once in awhile it will grind when shifting into reverse and 1st. But when it is cold out and the Jeep is cold it will grind and bounce into 2nd all the time until the jeep warms up, so I shift from 1st into 3rd to avoid this. After around 15min of driving everything is fine.

I took it to the dealership and they drove it around and said its fine, no problems with the tranny.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Thanks

Same issues in a 2009, dealer said there was nothing wrong as well. I just pause slightly when shifting between first and second. I don't have issues between any other shifts though, just first to second.

You could have worn syncro's, but since it only happens when cold I would try changing the gear oil in the trans first.

i have a brand new 2012 2 door wrangler and i have an issue where i either grind the gear or occasionally it will pop out only when i go from third into fourth gear

it doesn't happen often, maybe once each time i drive it, has no apparent link to if the vehicle is hot or cold etc.

Wow, I thought they had this issue fixed for 2012 :\ My '08 pops out of first gear sometimes, but no grinding. Hopefully it's just the oil in the tranny.

Default i have only 3000 miles on it

ive conciderd dumping the tranny oil replace fluid but id hate to void out warrenty so ive been hoping it stops doing it on its own, but its not
i thought it may have been a cold thing. but its 60 now and it still happens , again like other guy here not every shift into 4th but at least once a day while driving i believe its bad syncronisor not allowing the gear to line up while clutch is depressed , im not a mechanic but i read up on syncronisors and it sounds like the issue to me. and im not sure if i trust dealers to open up my tranny if its a hard job. its a new jeep and warrenteed but still when i hear others having same issue it makes you wonder how or what or why with a new ordered 2012 i end up double clutching (2) in on clutch and switching back to 3rd or re trying into 4th at least once during the course of a day of driving. other times not a issue at all seems like the gear
still spining and when the clutch is depressed it dosent stop it from spinning enough while gears sync togeather kinda rejects it or pop it out almost if that makes sence? you realy have to hold the shifter to try and make sure it caught the gear before letting out the clutch) some times you get a light grind and thats when you go for another gear or retry it due to the not lining up the sync.
again i dont understand trannys so its hypeathetical theory im saying here. any educated sugestions welcome to reply on weather fluid change may resolve that maybe the syncronisor isnt getting lubricated, i have no clue:

You said it, it's under warranty, I'd bring it in and have them address that issue. Don't worry about letting them into your new transmission because they usually have someone that specializes in those things do the work. But ultimately it's under warranty and this also helps document your troubles in case it goes any further.

Only the auto tranny is new for '12, the manual is the same as previous years.

Default i will add this to the post i found

that if i have rpms up around 3000 on shifting 3rd to 4th it dosent seem to do it so it apears but if i go by my instinct to shift from 3rd to 4th as by ear at around 2500 rpms with my 410 gearing the rpms drop off quickly while clutch is in and by the time i grab gear the rpms are about 1000 before it grabs inand clutch is out .
and this could be some of the reason however it would seem to me
i shouldnt have to have rpms at 2800 to 3000 to shift into 4th however
maybe the 2012 rubicon with 410s need the higher rpms to sync the gear meshing??
