Jeep Forum.com had a Q & A with Jeep engineers the other day, and I posted the following question:
"4 Wheel Drive and Sport Utility magazine claimed the following on their blog back in April:
"Also available soon will be complete front and rear half door kits that come complete and ready to paint. You’ll no longer have to go through the dealer’s part’s screen trying to figure out every little piece needed to put together half doors for your JK."
Is this true and if so when can we expect them, and at appoximately what price?"
Response:
The 1/2 door kits are still in development. They will be available by the new year. The kits will be 2 front doors in a box, and all of the components. price will be just under a grand for a pair of doors. Dealers may discount this price. You will have to paint the doors, but they will be primed. We will also have kits for the upper soft windows, and for the rear doors. We have been delayed getting product out for the new ram truck.__________________

Seriously, that is a great price compared to what is currently available!!

I'm thinking about buying the doors without the hardware just sheet metal and transfer all the guts and hardware to the new doors and buy the set of uppers. we will have to see what they do.
