For the money I would say stay with a Mopar factory top. I see them fairly routinely in the Wash. D.C. area Craigslist for between $1200 to $1500.

I ran a quick scan and didn't see one now, but did see one in the Pittsburgh, PA area for $1100. Just a thought!

If not going with a MOPAR hard top I would research the "other top's" design. Sometimes the aftermarket items are cheaper but their design may be different (more or less rounded corners etc) and so cosmetically they may be different and not what you're looking for. Especially if you're looking for the look that Freedom Top owners have.

On a side note... I saw that Quadratec.com sells anchor screws for the hardtop that have knobs attached to them... so you don't need a Torx screwdriver for the rear screws. I haven't upgraded yet but they might be handy if you plan to swap between tops or remove the hardtop periodically.

My old Jeep TJ had a soft-top and was loud.

My current 2012 Sport S, has a hardtop and I dont like it. Its quiet and keeps the cold out, but living in California I need to take the sides off for at least 5 months out of the year. The freedom top is pointless for me cuase I dont want to be exposed to the sun, just want the breeze from the sides like a Safari top (hence Im wainting right now for my Spidershade Cage)

With Freedom Hardtop I drive with front installed and rear section off. When its too hot I can run the AC and its still feels great. So, no HardTop for me if I could do it again.

Look into the emergency top from pavement ends. Iirc that's who makes it and it's like $150 +/- and designed for short term use.
