Default Hard Top - wiring harness?

I bought a used factory Hard Top but which has the wiring harness. But I don't believe mine has the harness coming from the Jeep. If anyone has had to purchase, any advice on where? The Dealer was around $140. Wonder who else may have it?

The dealer will most likely be the only one that has one. You might look at Mopar.com or jeepsareus.com, they may run the same price as the dealer.

Looks like Jeepsareus are about $20 less. Good call!

I would only be concerned with it if you intend to use the defroster and wiper. I very rarely use either on mine, in fact I'd be happy if they would delete the wiper and it's motor, it just adds weight to the top and reduces visibility. Guess coming from a soft top Jeep I got used to not having that stuff.

X2. It also looks very soccer mom.

Weedo, if you do decide to hook it up, I'm not certain but there may be a firmware upgrade required, too (IOW: You may have to pay the dealership to program the Jeep to know it now has a rear wiper). In fact, does your steering wheel stalk even have the controls for the rear wiper?

That is correct. No defrost or wiper without the dealer flash. The stalk is part of the wiring harness package along with the new dash HVAC controls.

Assuming you got a good deal on the top, I'd say screw the Wiper/Defrost. Belive me I can count on one hand the times I've used the Wiper. Last Winter used the Defrost not once (come to think of it I can't say for sure the thing works.)

there is a kit from quadratec for $160 to hook it up. It gives you the switches for defrost and wiper, gives you the tubing and container for washer fluid and the power cable plug. You have to get the dealer to switch it on.

If you don't have A/C you need this for $35 also:
