Yes you can store it this way. That's the way I do it since I got the Jeep. It doesn't hurt it or warp it in any way. If you don't want it chipped make sure you protect the edges.

TDYFAN is correct. This is so easy. I built this last year and it has been the best thing I have done other than installing the hoist to get the top off the jeep and onto this cart.

Hell buy some beer and the wood and have a "build" party...

It will be finished before the burgers are ready

To make a contraption that will face the hardtop down, not to mention moving it into that position, will be more difficult than building a dolly
