The new E-brake shoes will look just like the ones in your pic. They are not like the old drum brake shoes of old.

They are not as thick as service brake shoes would be. I would not call them thin, though.

Here is a pic of mine with 20,000 miles on the JK.

pretty sure mine are thinner than that. I'll have to get a pic in the next couple days, cuz now im obsessed with this parking brake thing. I will also be removing my console to examine where my lever is 'slipping' as i pull it up. Couldn't find one writeup on removing the entire center console.

i was hoping to find one pic of the under console area and cable config before i started..

i guess ill have to, or everyone will have this same problem finding info forever..

the slipping is obviously a groove worn in something where the cable slides. probably not fixable without replacing the whole unit.

try using the install procedures for Tuffy's full security console, it tells in there how to remove the original (it is NOT easy to get apart) Still need to sell my OEM full console come to think of it, keep meaning to list that.

How detailed of a pic are you looking for? There are a few general pics of stripped jeeps scattered throughout the linexed tub/interior threads.

thanks dude! that gives me an idea at least. Wherever my cable presses against under console has some problem, as the cable jumps and slips as i pull it up. I heard the console removal wasnt so bad. If it is bad, then i may scratch the idea. I always regret messing with things that arent really broke, and i usually break something else in the process..

I can't tell if there is a mini cable on the end of the hand brake lever, which twists that loop around, or if its a simple clock spring that turns that rotator. In that case, the slipping would be solved with some grease on that pivot point IF its not worn down already. A closer pic would tell the whole story. If none exists, I will have to tackle this which im not looking forward to..
