Help...Can't remove front bumper cover.
I'm needing some assistance removing my front plastic bumper cover. It has the factory fog lights and the factory tow brackets. I've removed the two outside bolts on each side. These appear to hold the cover to the actual steel bumper. I've also removed the fog light wiring connectors. The cover feels loose. It moves up and down and back and forth about an inch. But it won't come off. I've tried prying up and down on it, but it won't budge. I'm sure it has something to do with the cans underneath, but I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

there are a total of 8 bolts holding the bumper on...you'll have to completely remove the entire bumper from the Jeep and then remove the inner steel bumper from the plastic cover by removing another 4 (i think) bolts.
EDIT:
I just walked outside and looked at mine, I see what you're talking about now....I'm not sure if there are any more bolts holding that cover on or not...maybe it's the tow hooks getting in the way?

Got it off. Everyone was right. The entire bumper had to be taken off. Once the tow hooks were free, the cover came off. Something tells me this was a design by accident.
Now if I can figure out how to attach tow bar brackets to the flimsy steel bumper!!! I'm thinking I'll have to reinforce it with angle iron underneath and bolt through both pieces.
Anyone know what the ramifications are if I cut off the crunch cans?
Thanks,
David

yea,.......you wouln't have stupid ugly crush cans sticking off the front of your bumper like i do because i was to lazy to cut them off. they do take the small impact before the crush rails in the frame do. but if you put a aftermarket bumper you loose them anyway. i say cut them off while you have the thing apart.
